Halle was our guide and she was great!! She was knowledgeable about the area, the plants, the wildlife. It was fun getting to know her on the ride there and back. She has a passion for the outdoors and it truly shows. The hike itself was just beautiful, nothing like we have back home in Michigan. I wish we would've had time to see more.

Nick was great! Be sure to request him when you sign up. He was easy to talk to, taught us interesting facts - especially about the vegetation along the trails. I didn’t expect to see such a variety of plants in a desert area. Nick offered to take pictures for us and took us on a number of “side quests.” I highly recommend you support this tour company and this tour in particular. The small group option is ideal. It was me and two others. This way you get to hear what is being said and the group can move faster. You can pick between easy-medium-hard. I’d recommend most people take the easy option because even that was a challenge. Unless you are someone who is an avid hiker. If you have mobility concerns this isn’t for you because it is uneven terrain for most of the hike. Wearing regular sneakers is fine. Boots are better if you do the medium or hard option. Thanks to Nick and the tour company. I’m glad I went in December instead of July. Great tour and highly recommended!

Sarah was so kind, helpful, and knowledgeable about the area. She did a great job with the pace as well as knowing when to chat and when to leave us to enjoy and experience nature. I really enjoyed my hike!

This was a wonderful tour. We hiked for 3 hours in the beautiful, awesome Valley of Fire State Park, with Casey as our professional, friendly guide. He picked us up at our hotel on time and drove us the hour drive to/from VOF. He even provided snacks & drinks.

We had a great hike led by Nick. He was so knowledgeable, and I love that he took us off trail and we got to see things we wouldn't have been able to see on our own!

A day in Valley of Fire today, Nevada’s first state park (apparently it beat the second one by just a day). I booked a hiking tour through TripAdvisor again, and among the easy/medium/hard routes, of course I picked the hardest one. They emailed me saying I was the only person who chose the hard route and asked if I was okay doing a 1-on-1 hike with a female guide. I was like… is that even a question? That’s a blessing. Getting a private tour at group-tour prices? I’m more grateful than hesitant. Turns out today was also the grand opening of the new Visitor Center, so admission was free - just not for me, since I’d already paid the tour company. Valley of Fire is nicknamed a “free hiking park” by locals: aside from a few marked trails, most of the landscape is open, gentle, and sparsely vegetated, so you can pretty much wander anywhere you want. My inner wild monkey definitely awakened - I kept nudging my guide to take the off-trail, climb-that-rock, go-that-way detours. Honestly, she worked hard today because of me. My guide, Halle, was definitely amazing, with super knowledgeable about geology, plants, animals… I threw random questions at her the entire morning and she handled everything. She’s been guiding for 5 years, but moves every 4–6 months, like a migratory bird chasing good weather. Life constantly on the road. I envy her freedom and her “go-with-the-flow” attitude. Maybe in a few years I’ll choose a lifestyle like that too - close to nature, flexible schedule, earning money while staying active - if I ever overcome my extreme introvert energy. Her next stop is Alaska in March/April. Hope we cross paths again someday.

Had a great hike with Sara. Nice overall tour through the park. I was concerned about not having hiking boots, but it was fine w/sneakers.
