The Bridge on the River Kwai and Thailand-Burma Railway Tour offers a fascinating journey into the history and landscapes of Thailand during World War II. This guided tour takes you to the iconic bridge, which became a symbol of the hardships faced by soldiers and prisoners of war during the construction of the railway. Your adventure begins with a Hotel pick up from Bangkok and then taking a scenic drive to Kanchanaburi, where you’ll learn about the historical significance of the bridge and the railway, often referred to as the "Death Railway." As you stand on the bridge, you can appreciate the stunning views of the river and surrounding countryside, all while reflecting on the poignant history. The tour includes a ride on the Thailand-Burma Railway, providing a unique opportunity to experience the same tracks that were built under harrowing conditions. You'll also visit the War Museum and the Allied War Cemetery, which honor the memories of those who suffered during this period.

This was well worth it. It is an all day outing and a lot of driving but the country side is beautiful and it is a great way to learn about the history of the railway. Our guide was very knowledgeable and helpful. We loved the whole day and would recommend it.

Actually 4.5 but I didn’t know how to do a half star. Mr Oom was a lovely guide. Sense of humour. Knowledgeable. 9 of us in the group. Van was fine for the purposes - clean. Description of the tour was as said. Longtail boat ride - some people with mobility problems may have isdues. Train ride was excellent - worth the 300 baht for a definite seat. Lunch was very good and great selection. Drive back to Bangkok felt long but toilet / drink stop helped. All in all an excellent day.

A great experience from start to finish’s, I recommend this trip. Very knowledgable guide with a sense of humour. We were staying in Bangkok so an early start with traffic not bad, on the return journey traffic was very heavy but still well worth it.

This Tour was very well structured giving you the opportunity to see all aspects of the Bridge and Death Railway, from the history at the Museum, the aftermath at the cemetery and the results of the labour. The guide Oom was very knowledgeable, friendly and spoke English well. Pickup from Bangkok Hotels was also appreciated 👍

An amazing trip with a fantastic guide! Rach was so knowledgeable and looked after us so well. Nothing was too much trouble for him and he made sure that we had plenty of time to take photos at each venue. The driver, i forget his name, was also very good as was the lunch provided. Truly a day to remember!

The tour guide was very knowledgeable on the history of the area and made the tour very interesting. However, the van was uncomfortable. The two back rows could not hear the tour guide. You need a portable speaker system. The museum is in sad shape, and we should not have spent so much time there. The food was good.

It was an early start but our rep was very knowledgeable about this trip, certainly good value considering it was private tour so no coach just a minivan for four but included lunch. My second time here as a retired travel agent did this trip over 10 years ago nothing changed very sad to see how many loss of lives.

Early start but definitely worth it. Oom was a fabulous and informative guide. Emotional to be around the place where so many lost their lives in a terrible way. Highly recommend.
