Ancient Mayan Wonders: Dzibanche & Kohunlich Exclusive Tour

Armando is an excellent and knowledgeable guide. He provided great information and historical context to help us understand all that we saw during the day. He also shared his general knowledge about the region as someone raised in the area.

What a great tour! Carlos is packed full of knowledge to share. Very interesting. Carlos spent time answering our questions. We’d definitely recommend Carlos and this tour!

Good tour, the combination of jungle + ruins is perfect. Shanty is a great guide with a super positive attitude. One recommendation though: - at lunch, the food was great, no complaints there, but going to a fancy resort hotel for lunch, feels off for this culture-themed tour. Would have preferred lunch in a more... authentic, down-to-earth setting, possibly supporting a local business.

A must do if searching for a whole day excursion with professional and knowledgeable guides. Everything went smooth from pick up to drop off, Lorenzo was fantastic. Tip: bring bug spray.

We had such a lovely day viewing the Mayan ruins. Our tour guide, Shanti, was very sweet, hospitable and knowledgeable. I would definitely recommend this tour and Shanti as a guide!

Beautiful ruins in a quiet environment (very few tourists come here). Not too long driving. The guide was very nice and interesting. Do note that as of Jan 2022, the scheduled restaurant no longer accepts guests outside of the hotel so we are going to another restaurant in Bacalar.

It was great but there was a third person that we did not know and they show up in a regular sized taxi cab, the driver and guide were very nice and the lunch was delicious but it was hard being squished into a cab for several hours, but overall I would do it again !!

Day your was amazing. They had to cancel our tour last minute but easily rescheduled and included an additional tour at no cost! Carlos was absolutely wonderful!! We had an amazing tour and he provided so much information about the sites. The drive to the sites was nice- Carlos is probably the best driver we’ve had in Mexico so far lol. The food was wonderful! We were very happy that they were able to accommodate our gluten free diet. Overall the tour was well balanced, enough information and enough time to explore on our own! We loved Carlos and highly recommend!

Day Tour Bacalar, and specifically, Lorenzo, is incredible! Lorenzo picked us up, drove us to the ruins, all the while telling us about the history of the region, both ancient and modern. The ruins of Dzibanche and Kohunlich are very interesting, especially the latter (but I'll let Lorenzo elaborate on that :) ). Lorenzo has a wealth of knowledge and love for his land and people, and he shares it readily. He customizes the tour based on your interests and abilities, so you remain engaged at all times. Lorenzo also had plenty of cold water and snacks for us, which on a 6-hour tour is no small potatoes :) We had lunch at the eco-hotel Explorean (included in the price), which consisted of regional dishes and ice cream for desert. Everything tasted very good, and the atmosphere of the restaurant was nice and tranquil. I definitely recommend this tour if you want to learn more about the incredible history and architecture of the Maya people

Incredible day out. Lorenzo was a very professional and knowledgeable guide and being a small group of three we were well looked after. He gave us plenty of time to explore whilst filling us in on the history of the Mayan civilization at these locations. The sheer size and complexity of both the Dzibanche and Kohunlich sites were amazing and having them practically to ourselves was a real bonus and not what I was expecting! The surrounding jungle added to the beautiful setting. A definite 5 star!
