This spring, your family can explore the all-new Animal Chronicles, a walking trail of more than a quarter mile, featuring immersive eco-sculptures that showcase key achievements in the Bronx Zoo’s history of saving animal species and connecting New Yorkers to wildlife. We are committed to providing safe and healthy experiences for our community. Changes to exhibits and park operations will happen. We will provide advance notice, when possible, but adjustments may also be due to unforeseen conditions. Went on a Friday, not too crowded & nice weather. Animals appear well cared for. Signage was easy to follow. The grounds were clean & employees friendly. Enjoyed seeing the feeding for the sea lions & penguins. Monorail guide was pleasant & knowledgeable. Large area to explore so be prepared to walk.

I don’t usually leave reviews, but NIFT recommended I start leaving them! This is a Wonderful place to enjoy the day with your family and kids. The kids loved all the animals and it was a beautiful day for the experience! Even got into the Congo forest for free because it was so quiet there! The Bronx zoo really is a must for anyone with kids or anyone who loves animals! We will be heading back there very soon! Staff were wonderful, the place was clean and most of the animals were on display. (Unlike other zoos I have been to.) best part, Wednesdays are free all year!

Lovely outdoor space in a very loud neighborhood. We enjoyed the cleanliness and the variety of animals we were able to view. The bears were adorable, the Jungle World and Congo sites were at the top of our list of must sees. We went on Friday the 19th and were very disappointed to discover that only the gift shop and one restuarant was open. There were no other vendors available and the place is HUGE. Luckily we tailgated outside before entering and brought our own water bottles and snacks. There was also very limited interaction with staff, so we felt like we were on our own most of the day. Thank goodness we did our research and planned our itinerary in advance.

I had a late afternoon open one afternoon and made a trip up to the Bronx Zoo before the foliage started to turn. What a great afternoon. I had about three hours to walk around the park which was a lot of fun. Most of the animals were out for the afternoon so I got to see the exhibits and the animals during feeding time. I got to tour through the historical buildings, walked through the Congo jungle exhibit and finished my tour with a tour of the Dinosaur exhibit. That was interesting The Bronx Zoo has something for everyone and there is a lot to see and do there.

This zoo has a lot to see. There are different areas all around the zoo. They have maps there, but it can get confusing. I would look online at a map first before you go and pick out what you want to see. There is a lot of walking around to do so wear comfortable shoes. You can always find places to sit. There are trams around but not a lot of them. They have a monorail that takes about 20 minutes. I would do that in the morning before it gets crowded. There are places to eat that has mostly chicken, hotdogs ect and also and indoor restaurant. At one parking area before you leave there is a gift shop.

It was a good experience but we were disappointed with not seeing animals that were supposed to be in the exhibits and were not

The Zoo encompasses more than 265 acres and while it may not be possible to experience it all in one trip, if you plan your day accordingly, you can visit most of the animals in a full day! We took the option to purchase the Private Cart Tour, a 60 min tour with a guide that takes you around the zoo and visits those animals you wish to see most. We were blessed to see all of the big cats, even though our tour guide said many days they are hiding in the brush or sleeping behind trees or big boulders. We also elected to book a wild encounters experience! We all enjoyed the experience and the wealth of information the keepers shared with us during the 30 min encounter! We even received a surprise visit from another animal which was unexpected, but exciting for us all and we enjoyed the experience. The Zoo is the cleanest we have all every experienced, the staff, keepers and guides were extremely friendly and helpful! The cafe was reasonably priced, considering and food was delicious. A fun and enjoyable day had by all!

The air is fresh here and the peacocks will follow you around the zoo. The tigers are curious. The seals are playful in their pool that looked like a fountain

Love the zoo. We have watched the show on the Discover channel and wanted to see the actual zoo. Was not disappointed! Great exhibits and very friendly staff!
