Beth was an excellent guide. Fun and gave us enough info to learn a bit about NOLA and the food. 10 of us enjoyed spending a few hours with her. Food was all delicious and good portions… we skipped dinner that night!

We loved the combination of food and history, and the way our host wove food and agriculture into the history of the diverse peoples who populate NOLA in stages. All the food was delicious, made more so by learning about the origins. Our guide was excellent in both delivery and pacing of his presentation segments. I appreciated that he saved longer sections for when we were comfortably seated. Our guide's voice projected easily so that we could hear every word, which is often a problem on tours. Wish I could remember his name to give him direct credit, but I am horrible at remembering names!

Our food walking tour in New Orleans was an absolute treat! Our guide Beth was fantastic—knowledgeable, engaging, and passionate about the city’s history. She clearly explained how New Orleans’ unique culinary fusions came to be, blending French, Spanish, African, and Caribbean influences into the dishes we know today. Every stop had a story, and every bite connected to the city’s vibrant culture. It was the perfect mix of history, flavor, and fun! Highly recommend this tour for anyone who wants to truly understand what makes New Orleans cuisine so special.

My guide, Meghan, was bubbly, funny, and knowledgeable. The food was great. Serving is only a sample size(not a full meal). By the end of the tour, you are completely full. It was great meeting people.

Dr Gumbo’s knowledge of New Orleans was excellent, made for an excellent tour with the combination of food and how it evolved and the history behind each dish.

"The Professor" was a great guide for our tour. Knowledgeable, funny and the selection of places we went to was great, both in the style of the places themselves and the different things we got to try. Really enjoyed this tour.

We loved this tour! The perfect combination of history and food. We did this on our first day in town for a long weekend and it was a great way to orientate in the area and get an overview of the wonderful food and rich history of New Orleans. Plus I could impress my friends with all my knowledge of everything we ate that weekend. Highly recommend! John was great and super knowledgeable. I was amazed at his precise memory - he knew history down to exact dates!
