Dominican Republic

Formed by the peaks of two undersea mountains, (which come from Jamaica and Cuba), the island of Hispaniola lies in the heart of the Caribbean.  Covering two-thirds of the island on the eastern side is the country of Dominican Republic.

Even though the majority of the land is mountainous, the Dominican Republic is blessed with 400 kilometers of white sandy beaches stretching from coast to coast.
