East Africa

The infrastructure for safaris in Kenya and Tanzania is well established with a selection of accommodations ranging from moderate to deluxe. The parks and game reserves most often visited in Kenya include the Masai Mara, Samburu, Amboseli, Lakes Nakuru and Naivasha in the Rift Valley. In the Aberdare Highlands on the Equator one can stay at famous "tree" lodges, or at the Mount Kenya Safari Club located nearby. The primary parks visited in Tanzania are the Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater, Lake Manyara, Tarangire, and perhaps Mt Kilimanjaro. In Uganda there are several parks, but the principal interest for visitors is to trek into the highlands to see a family group of mountain gorillas in their natural habitat.
